I'm logging in to signal boost about the stories being taken off AO3 and put onto the site www(.)ebooks-tree(.)com. I personally have had nine stories put up for download on the site without my permission.

I have written a take down notice and do not want my stories hosted there. If you have a favorite author who posts on AO3, please let them know to search on this new site to see if their stories have been uploaded without permission.

There is a nice article up on Tumblr that talks about take down notices if you happen to have had your stories put up on this site without permission and want to request a take down:

It's pissing off a lot of people. It's one thing to save a copy for yourself, never giving it out (although I do know some frown upon that), but to distribute it and make money off someone else's work? Horrible.

I usually use the download button on AO3, but I also leave kudos and sometimes a comment. I just don't have enough time to read something right that minute, but I want to read it later. It also links back within the pdf file so that you can go back and leave a comment. So, I get that, but the whole distributing it without the author's permission, without the author knowing, and for a profit, just pisses me off. It's not cool at all.

If I don't leave a comment, I definitely leave a kudos. The author deserves recognition for their work. I would be so upset if I was an author and someone was doing this to me.
