Danneel & Jensen to be parents

Danneel is pregnant. 



Supernatural star Jensen Ackles is going to be a father. People Magazine has confirmed with the star's rep that he and wife Danneel Ackles are expecting their first child.

The news comes just two days before Ackles is expected at the People's Choice Awards where Supernatural is nominated for four awards, including Ackles for Favorite Actor in a Drama Series (where he is competing against co-star Jared Padalecki).Danneel Ackles may be best known as One Tree Hill bad girl Rachel. She most recently guest starred on the TV Land comedy Retired at 35.

The joyous news continues the trend of Supernatural's two leading men following the same path. First Jared Padalecki married his Supernatural co-star Genevieve Cortese, then Jensen Ackles married his Ten Inch Hero co-star Danneel Harris. Jared and his wife had their first child, a son named Thomas Colton Padalecki, in 2012, and now Jensen and Danneel will follow suit with their own bundle of joy.

If I know anything about Supernatural fans (who are nominated for their own People's Choice Award for Favorite TV Fan Following), they will be incredibly happy for the couple. Now we can all dream of a day 25 years from now when the children of Jared and Jensen will star in a reboot of Supernatural as the next generation of Winchesters continue to fight demons and monsters.

New episodes of Supernatural return Wednesday, January 16 at 9pm on the CW.
