Apparently, someone hacked my hotmail account, and it's now locked. Whoever hacked it changed the my recovery email addresses and half my information, so now the Microsoft teams have to decide if I provided enough previous info to recover my account and turn it over to me. So if you get an email from me (billysgirl5@hotmail.com) and it's asking for something or is spam, I'm sorry.

This freaking SUCKS!!

EDIT:  I have my account back, but A LOT of emails were sent out. So if you've gotten an email from with the subject as "(no subject)", DELETE IT! Once again, I'm sorry!

My husbands facebook was hacked that way. Another reason I don't have one. :)

I've had my account hacked once before, but it was one of my junk emails so it didn't have any email addresses to send junk emails too. All I can say is that I'm glad I found out within a couple hours and it wasn't one of my main accounts.

Saw it earlier but didn't open it. Scary that stuff like this can happen.

I'm glad you didn't open it. I did send out an email to all the addresses that it showed a spam email being sent to, so hopefully, everyone will be a bit cautious when opening the first.

I'm sorry that happened to you, I've never had anything of mine personally hacked but I've had friends who've had and it blows because a lot of the times they aren't lucky enough to get their information and stuff back. It's ridiculous what random strangers do now a days to battle their boredom.

I know, right? I'm just trying to figure what someone would hope to find in that email account. It's only used for LJ purposes. I guess people will do anything to combat boredom...and that sucks.

Oh man, that sucks! I'm sorry to hear that :( Same thing happened to me about 3 years ago with my yahoo account. I had a paid flickr account too, so I was worried the hacker had my credit card info. I had to fax all this info to yahoo to get it straightened out. What a headache.

I'm glad you got your account back though!

It really sucks that someone finds hacking fun and amusing. It really does mess things up. I'm just glad that it was an account that I only use for LJ.

Got the email and since there was no subject line, I deleted it. I will never be able to fathom why folks do things like that. Hugs!!

I do the same thing...an email without a subject does not get opened...although, in some of my accounts, a preview of the email is given, so I just delete those.

Turns out that I'm not the only person on LJ who's hotmail got hacked today. Guess someone is targeting LJ accounts :(

I'm glad you were able to get your account back. Do they know who hacked it?

Unfortunately, no. I do know that I wasn't the only one on LJ who got their hotmail account hacked today, so it could be someone targeting LJ, not just hotmail. Although, for all we know, it could all just be a coincidence.
